Paddle in Rådasjön – A Scenic and Immersive Lake Experience in West Sweden

 

Explore the tranquil beauty of Rådasjön, a picturesque lake just outside Gothenburg, perfect for travelers seeking authentic nature-based experiences. This guided paddle tour combines calm waters, forest-lined shores, local food culture, and hidden gems – ideal for international guests looking for something genuine, relaxing and enriching.
The journey begins on the western shore, where guests paddle beneath a small wooden bridge into a peaceful backwater leading to nearby Stensjön. Here, there’s time to swim, enjoy mini-golf, or grab an ice cream or pizza by the lake.
Continuing east along the northern edge of Rådasjön, the tour passes the charming neighborhood of Helenevik and reaches a scenic rocky outcrop – a perfect place to pause for a swim, a picnic, or simply to take in the sunset.
Further along the shore lies Hästvikens beach – a sandy stretch with a jetty, diving platform, barbecue areas, and nearby open pastures with grazing horses – an idyllic and refreshing stop.
For those who enjoy a touch of culture and cuisine, Råda Säteri could await you with homemade crêpes, lunch or coffee served in a historical setting. Guests are invited to explore the blooming flower slope and tranquil gardens before returning to the kayaks.
Adventurous paddlers can continue beyond Råda Säteri into a narrow, green canal at the lake’s eastern edge. This hidden route winds through the forest and leads all the way into central Mölnlycke – offering a unique contrast between wilderness and town.
